There are always jobs to be done within a purely volunteer organasation like our U3A. It is often difficult for members to know where they could help, so this page may give you some ideas, but don't forget you can simply offer your services to a committee member or group leader. New helpers are always needed, whether organising trips and groups or simply making tea or washing up. We all have some skill we can offer.

• General meeting Tea Rota - Peter and Eileen Holland finished running the Tea / Coffee Bar at our Christmas Meeting after 6 years of sterling work. As yet no-one has volunteered to take over. We need someone to take charge. If you feel you could volunteer to help or even organise the running of the Tea / Coffee Bar, please contact our Secretary ASAP. Many hands make light work! This is also an ideal way to get to know other members.

• Vice Chairman
  

This post is to support the Chairman and after 1 or 2 years take over from the Chairman. Neil's 2 years in office as Chairman will end in May 2012 and David Butler will take over as chairman, so we will need a new Vice Chair.
The post is a management committee post.

• Each year U3A diaries are ordered for members. Is there anyone who would like to take on this task? See Alma Harrison for further details.
• Extra help is needed to make tea and coffee on at the Thursday coffee morning. See Maureen bunting if you can help.

Due to the increase in membership, group leaders are required for the following groups. Some of these are for interests not currently offered by our U3A, others are to start a second or third group. Help is available from current group leaders and group leaders committee representatives, so don't let inexperience hold you back and if you want to start a group not mentioned here then please do!

If you can help with any of the above, please contact publicity or a group leaders representative.

• If you can regularly offer lifts to someone please see the secretary or appropriate interest group leader. This may enable someone to attend a group meeting who wouldn't otherwise get there.

Remember - it is YOUR U3A so if you can take some responsibility within it you will improve it for everyone.
