We meet on 1st Wednesday of the month at St Teresa's from 10am-12noon unless a garden visit is planned. £2 fee includes tea, coffee, biscuits. The aim of the group is to bring together people who enjoy gardening and gardens. In the summer months we visit public and private gardens by car or coach. 7th March Sue Beacon - Spring in the Cottage Garden. 4th April Visit to Holehird Gardens for the daffodils and Leighton Hall (fully booked - reserve list available) 2nd May To celebrate 30 years of the U3A organisation nationally we are hosting a 'Gardeners Question Time' for U3A's through the region. Tickets are available at £2 each. Advance booking required. 6th June Visit by car to Wedgewood, Hesketh Bank. This is a garden in the ngs yellow book and is well worth a visit. 4th July Holker Hall and gardens by Coach. Details later. A 6 week gardening course is being run for us starting Thursday 22nd March. Price £30. It will be held in the lounge at St Teresa's Social Club. This is open to any U3A member but pre booking is essential. Subjects include planning and design, seasonal planting, propogation, pruning, seed sowing.
